We feel our most important role is helping you understand your pet's health at each stage of his or her life and — thanks to advances in veterinary medical diagnostics, treatment therapies and nutritional strategies — pets are living longer, healthier lives. Our patients receive annual wellness examinations where they are evaluated from head to tail, vaccinated, and tested for parasites. This evaluation is especially important for senior pets. The staff at Manchester West Veterinary Hospital developed the Senior Care Profile, a recommended set of diagnostic tests designed to evaluate your senior pet for the on-set of age-related conditions. Early diagnosis is the key to reducing the effects of an illness.
SurgeryRoutine spays and neuters as well as more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries are regularly performed in our surgery suite. Our patients receive the safest anesthesia possible, as well as continuous blood oxygen and heart monitoring. Pre-surgical blood testing and IV fluid therapy are recommended and available on the premises.
Grooming
Our on-premise, full service grooming salon, Central Bark West, is staffed by gentle, experienced and friendly professionals capable of creating any style including scissored show cuts and specialty haircuts for our feline clientele. Our groomers are trained by our staff veterinarians to look for developing skin, ear and eye problems. Early diagnosis and treatment of these conditions save time and money and reduce your pet's discomfort. The grooming facility features a comfortable setting for your pet including separate bathing/drying and styling areas and separate climate control. We even have a Groom-with-a-View window so you can observe your pet's transformation! We require current vaccinations to protect the health of pets in the salon.
Dental Care
Regular dental care and examinations, as well as routine dental prophylaxis, help prevent and control gum disease, tooth loss, mouth sensitivity and bad breath. Conversely, poor oral health enables bacteria to access the bloodstream, which can lead to the onset of kidney and liver disease, heart murmurs and even organ failure and a patient's demise. We provide professional scaling, polishing, root planning, fluoride treatment and home dental care instruction for superior oral health.
Pain Management
Recent advances in analgesic drugs have enabled faster, safer, more effective pain relief than ever. Don't assume all clinics provide this service, as these drugs are expensive to keep on hand. We believe relief of your pet's discomfort is essential to a rapid recovery. At Manchester West Veterinary Hospital, all of our surgical and trauma patients benefit from these medications.

Diagnostic Tools
Our doctors are skilled in the most current diagnostic methods for both routine and advanced medical cases. We utilize the safest high-detail x-ray technology, ultrasound imaging, cardiac monitoring (EKG), in-house and off-site laboratory services. This technology, combined with compassionate care and excellent veterinarian/client communication, provides you with the best options for your pet's treatment.
Pharmacy
Our convenient, well-stocked pharmacy, in combination with our progressive approach to treatment, provides our patients with the latest in medical therapies. Our veterinarians are well versed in the latest life-saving drug protocols as well as preventive therapies, some of which can postpone or even replace surgical procedures. Whether it is a newly released antibiotic, anti-itch medications or the latest in heartworm and flea preventatives you can be sure your pet will benefit from the safest and most effective medications available.
